Thank you for visiting my Rappel For Rippleffect page! Last year my mid-life crisis hit, and I realized that I had spent the past 9 years in the lap of parenting comfort (sarcasm intended). Aside from parenting adventures, I hadn't tried anything new. So I jumped out of a plane. It was a great adventure for myself, and I was thrilled to do it. This year I want to do something thrilling, and something that helps out a good cause. I want to jump off a building. Ok, well not jump off but step off.
On, I will be taking the big step Over The Edge of One Canal Plaza and rappel 10 stories down. I am taking on this personal adventure to help support the nonprofit youth organization, Rippleffect. To actually go over the edge, I need to collect $500 in donations. I started with $25, and I hope you can help me out--well, over.
For over 19 years, Rippleffect has been a community-based organization that has provided experiential education and wilderness adventures for youth. While many of their programs are based out of their Cow Island eco-home in Casco Bay, Rippleffect works youth organizations and schools in locations all over Maine. In 2017, Rippleffect had over 3,000 young people involved in leadership programs, winter expeditions, after school programs, environmental education, sea kayak expeditions, and more!
The Rippleffect mission of promoting youth development and leadership through adventure, healthy communities and living sustainably, resonates deeply with me and I ask you to help support my efforts to positively impact the lives of Maine youth!
Proceeds from the pledges that I raise for Rappel For Rippleffect will go toward:
- Providing more than $40,000 in scholarship opportunities for Maine youth annually
- Supporting our community-based programs for schools and youth non-profits
- Providing year-round programs that build confidence, develop critical leadership skills, strengthen relationships, and grow participant's appreciation for the outdoors through the exploration of Cow Island, the waters of Casco Bay, and the wilderness of New England

I look forward to seeing you (from 10 stories up) onas I go Over The Edge for Rippleffect!
